Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.

Easy Unicode Input

Most websites do not give you an easy way to type characters that aren't on your keyboard. With this extension you can add any unicode character in the Basic Multilingual Plane (0000-<FFFF>) provided that the font you are using supports it. To enter a character use the keyboard shortcut to trigger the extension and then type the 4-digit hexadecimal code for the character you want. The character will then be inserted where your text cursor is.

The keyboard shortcut is Control+' to trigger Unicode input.

Version History

Version 2.1.1 - 10 May 2017
Minor bug fix. In version 2.1 you could delete the "0x" part of the Unicode value even though it is required. This update fixes that problem.
Version 2.1 - 9 May 2017
This is the first release of this extension as a Web-Extension.
You are restricted to using Ctrl+' as the trigger combination.
The value you are typing in is displayed in the top-left corner until you have input the full value.
You can use "Enter" or "Escape" to cancel the input of the Unicode value.
If you miss-type you can use "Backspace" to correct the value.
You can only input a Unicode value in a TEXTAREA or INPUT field.
Version 2.0 - 2 August 2016
Never released due to a coding bug.
Version 1.0 - 10 November 2015
